SCIENCE DAILY  Oct. 28, 2011 — Huge progress has been made over the last few years in scientific research into progeria, a disease that leads to premature aging in children. In 2003, a team directed by Nicolas Lévy discovered the gene, and, in 2008, 12 children were able to begin clinical trials in which two molecules were combined to slow down the characteristic effects of the disease: premature aging. Researchers are continuing their efforts in an attempt to counter the consequences of the genetic defect that causes progeria.
SCIENCE DAILY 16 May 2013  : Accelerated Aging in Children: Promising Treatment for Progeria Within Reach — Pharmaceuticals that inhibit a specific enzyme may be useful in treating progeria, or accelerated aging in children. As reported in the journal Science, a new study performed at the Sahlgrenska Academy indicates that the development of progeria in mice was inhibited upon reducing the production of this enzyme.

Caterpillar 5230 Ramping Down. A 1998 Caterpillar 5230 hydraulic front shovel digging down into a shot. Before anyone jumps to criticize the operator or machine's speed, keep in mind the shovel is facing downward on a very steep incline; cutting the haul road down into the new shot. Because of this (and also due to the machines age), the shovel is having a hard time building up enough momentum to swing uphill at full speed with a full bucket to load the trucks. Ashley Hegi Progeria. Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria syndrome is an extremely rare genetic condition which causes physical changes that resemble greatly accelerated aging in sufferers. The disease affects between 1 in 4 million (estimated actual) and 1 in 8 million (reported) newborns. Currently, there are approximately 40-45 known cases in the world. There is no known cure. Most people with progeria die around 13 years of age.  Ashley Hegi is a 16 year old girl who lives in Canada and has Progeria. There have been many TV specials about her.

There must be something behind all this. If there is not a speck of dust floating in this earth without the knowledge of the Creator, then these children, God's children -- I do not know why I suddenly feel sad -- I feel they are the messenger for revealing science more broadly so that we will study harder. In my silence I asked out loud To The Nothing, louder than the Melodious Tinkling of bombs or tanks or weapons. "Dear The Most Perfect, Has Your work been flawless?"

The film is about two 6-year old American girls who suffer with a rapid-aging disease called Progeria – a condition with an average life expectancy of just 13. Only 54 children in the world suffer with Progeria and this film documents an intimate portrayal of two families living with this condition. The shoot took place on location in the US and was shot on the EX3. This film was made by Blink Films for Discovery TLC.

"Thank you for your perception! I like your romantic side, even if I do not always comment and I'm glad that you're in my circle of friends."(Courtesies by: Wolfgang A. Gerhardt)

Wolfgang A.Gerhardt : May be you like this Sunday collage

Cisca Zarmansyah : Before today, there never was a person doing this to me. You create a simple matter to look special. This is a special thing for me.

Cisca Zarmansyah : Thank you. I love it. I love you, my friend.

CieL- FreYa Ceastle : Hmm, he's so nice...

"I am me.
In all the world,
there is no one else exactly like me.
Everything that comes out of me
is authentically mine,
because I alone chose it --
I own everything about me:
my body,
my feelings,
my mouth,
my voice,
all my actions,
whether they be to others or myself.
I own my fantasies,
my dreams,
my hopes,
my fears.
I own my triumphs and successes,
all my failures and mistakes.
Because I own all of me,
I can become intimately acquainted with me.
By so doing,
I can love me
and be friendly with all my parts.
I know there are aspects about myself
that puzzle me,
and other aspects
that I do not know
-- but as long as I am friendly
and loving to myself,
I can courageously and hopefully
look for solutions
to the puzzles and ways
to find out more about me.
However I look and sound,
whatever I say and do,
and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time
is authentically me.
If later some parts of how I looked,
sounded,
thought,
and felt
turn out to be unfitting,
I can discard that
which is unfitting,
keep the rest,
and invent something new
for that which I discarded.
I can see,
hear,
feel,
think,
say, and do.
I have the tools to survive,
to be close to others,
to be productive,
and to make sense
and order out of the world of people
and things outside of me.
I own me,
and therefore,
I can engineer me.
I am me,
and I am okay."
